You see no suggestions on this forum because this forum won't feed the dog of change.
The suggestions that you suggest are better place in the ears of those that may actually do something, to be sure. And so they have, since my last posting.
Does crawling through a hole into the station from a ladder, and out again numerous times throughout an event weekend may seem normal? Not even to an OMRRA worker. And many of them aren't getting any younger either.
I take it that you've also been standing all day in the constant 20-30 mph that will catch the angle of that roof line whether down force or lift, but will eventually pull itself apart as it torques the rest of the structure. Perhaps OMRRA will flag from the edge of the surface, and only a communicator will habitate the tower, but not so with the sports car flaggers.
Now lets talk foundation... The legs of the structure are secured in some fashion with turnbuckled guy wires. A square platform might have been a sturdier design, but without cross-member supports and a supporting stairway structure component, the wiggle factor with us "older" folks moving around upstairs will become another wear factor.
These structures, as built, won't last until the next season (if this one gets started).
I've worked the bikes too. Cars don't adhere to that unproven rule that says they all go to the outside of the turn. And station placement isn't the issue. I just don't want to be standing on one as it gives up to a wind gust.
These suggestions, and more have been communicated off line to the appropriate folks, once found, and that is why you see little more of it on this forum.
The Pros From Dover are all over this bit. It's not rocket science. It a lack of perspective.
Thanks for your support, Jim. We are all working toward a world class racing environment.
