Its Official No COLA Adjustment

In accordance with Article 9.1.F.2 of the 2006-2010 National Agreement, COLA is calculated in January and July.  Based on figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on August 14, 2009, the consumer price index  (CPI-W) for July 2009 was 627.893.  The CPI-W for July 2009 was below the July 2008 CPI-W of 644.303.  The July 2009 Consumer Price Index (CPI-W) did not increase over the July 2008 CPI-W.  Therefore, there will be no cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for July 2009.
The next opportunity for additional COLA will be with the release of the January 2010 Consumer Price Index.

Considering that the Federal Government continually lies about labor stats as well as inflation, I would not be suprised that the CPI figures are a load of horse manurer.  If the true numbers are known by the American people, there would be a tremendous hue and cry for the indictment of those putting out all of these fraudulent numbers.  Our COLA and those of those on Social Security would increase by a tremendous amount.
