Is this a Compass ?

Hi, I found out on Tnet from Swamphunter...It is a Compass but not a detector. It is suppose to send a charge into the ground. To make targets have more sensitivity for your detector..........Jim

Hi Jim, yes I think that's an old Compass depth doubler. I believe the idea behind it is that it puts an electrical charge in the ground. If it's used in wet ground like after a rainstorm it will increase the halo on old coins and iron too. I remember reading something about it somewhere a while back, you may want to do a google search.

Hey,Gary  How is it going ? I saw were you and your son got out and he was better at detecting than you!!! Well he got more any how. Swamphunter on Tnet told me what that was i wonder if that would work? But i am not going to get it .I have a hard enought time finding time to detect let alone pound stake's in the ground i was just curious. Thought i would let all take a look at it...........Jim

Jim, yes my son beat me again with that little Compadre! He's just a natural, he's only 12 years old, sniffs out those targets like a bloodhound, I had him after the first hour and told him I was finally going to beat him, he proved me wrong again!

Gary, I sent you a PM from Tnet i was on there when you asked me. In Tnet under.... other brands....and then ....any one know what kind of detector this is.... " saturna" put up a web site with a lot of info on that detector. Hi Jim, tried finding it at eBay UK and couldn't. I just wanted to look at the listing out of curiousity. I don't know if I'd buy anything on eBay from overseas. It sure is interesting though.

Gary , I just checked it and it is there just click into united Kingdom then put in metal detector compass and it should pop up. Hi Jim, I finally found it, I did some research on it. I don't think it really is a Compass, so once again I'm stuck with my foot in my mouth. I wouldn't waste my money on it.

Gary, I was not going to bid on it i was just curious about it that's all. All i know it said Compass in the ebay bid .
