The answer i am hoping for is: NO, its you thats stupid!
The Background: Ive just switched from Windows to Ubuntu desk 9.04 (and im loving it!). Ive managed to get the stuff i want to work (traditional chinese caracters with hanyu pinyin input method) and everything is running ALMOST perfect.
The problem: When i used Windows i could write chinese in a decent speed, good enough to have no difficulties chattin on msn 等等。。。
after the switch to ubuntu i feel that the IMEngine has no idea of what i am writing...where the microsoft input method would give me the double word or a couple or alternatives, ubuntu gives me random characters that dont make up the words i want...which results in me having to chose every character...which resoults in the fact that if i would write this text in chinese, it would probably take a couple of hours.
I am not expecting the IMEngine to know what my most frequent used words are right away...but it seems like its not learning at all...and futhermore it seems it does not have any kind of dictionary to match with (do you know what i mean? what i am saying is that if i write a doubble character word, for example ”fuze“，or "fu4ze2" he will not even give me the option to choose the right word for "responsible" wich that would correspont to...like it does not even know that word...so i have to go look for the right "fu4" and the right “ze2" in the long list...)
i need to get the speed up, im gonna go crazy if i have to flip through long lists just to write a simple short scentance!
