Is it possible to develop a SOAP data collector in openNMS?

Hi, all:

I want to monitor the Cisco Call Manager through the SOAP service. I am wondering whether it is possible to develop a general framework for the SOAP data collector.
Seems like it's difficult because different web service provides different SOAP APIs. I am thinking about the possibility of developing a specific SOAP data collector for the Cisco Call Manager. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Joey

I've been interested in collecting data from Cisco's UCM for a while
now.  I'm not a developer, but I'd be happy to help test anything you
work on.

Hi,

Although this is not a generic SOAP framework, I am working on a SOAP
interface for OpenNMS as part of our contribution to the Telemanagement
Forum Interface program. The interface definition will be flexibly
defined using a model created with the ( Cisco sponsored) Tigerstripe
plugin for Eclipse . Still work in progress but some information
available on the following pages http://openoss.sourceforge.net/

If we think through the design carefully, we might be able to pick up
data from the call server and other soap services as a by -product.

Hope this helps

Craig Gallen

We could start with an Abstract SOAP class that provides the basic
functionality from which we can extend specific concrete classes.
Perhaps we can work with Craig on the abstraction for your
implementation.  (We've actually wanted to do this for quite some time)
