Hi all! :)

i'm a consultant for an italian Plone company, but at the Naples'
Conference, while sitting by Andreas Jung, i showed him an "old" project
of mine, who could interest someone on this list, and perhaps could be
listed on P4U.

it's just a few archetypes and ZPTs, and unfortunately at the moment is
just in italian, but it is the implementation of a research work and
thesis of prof. Federico Valacchi
(http://eugenio.unimc.it/f_discipline/unimc/docente.2005-10-24.1749429602) and Dr. Paola Pizzichini. Their aim was to produce a consistent survey on the way of teaching their subject (they are archivists), but i think they've built a nice tool both to collect "didactic" data and to publish them.

Perhaps is too specific to italian university situation, but if you'd
like to have a look, you find it here: http://eugenio.unimc.it

for any further information, please answer to this mail..

I think this is an interesting example - thanks for sending it on.

One of my questions about the Plone4Universities site is about the overlap
between plone.net and plone4universities.org.  We don't want to duplicate
listings (unless it's a feed).

Any thoughts on how to handle it?  Should all university listings be
handled in one site and syndicated?  Or should certain types of listings
go in the separate sites?

plone.net does not provide a RSS feed right now. Manually adding the sites
right now should not be a big deal. In addition we can not force site
owners to lists their sites on plone.net - although we should :-)

We already have multiple listings (I've add links). If someone wants a
listing on the p4u site I'll add it. I have no problem with multiple
listings as long as we have links to the listings in order to tell the
visitor that are even more sites...however having a central listing on
plone.net would be fine for _all_ site however that's science fiction :->

Maurizio,

Getting back to your original interest, I think this would be a fine
addition to the Plone4Universities "available software" section, if you're
ready to share it.

It does bring up the question of what Plone4Universities is going to be.
Is it a sharing space for all kinds of projects?  Or a product suite?
Maybe both together?

I can't make it to Ploneability Higher Ed, but sounds like it'll be a
topic of discussion.

:)
i've never cleaned up the code, and it's quite old now (plone 2.1)
but if anyone is interested i can mail him the code, and i can also ask
the professor if he'is ok to share our "knowledge" (i don't see any
point here, but still is correct to ask..)

anyway i repeat it's just a question of some archetypes and ZPTs..
so ask, and i'll send you the code.

i'd prefer both together, but i'm not on this wave just now..
it'd be interesting according to me to share what has been done and
what's going on, and also to start collecting people interested in
building a product suite ala p4a useful to universities cases..
