Image vertical alignment

Recently when we upgraded edit live, we found out that vertical
alignment capabilities for images are gone through right click. I know
the old way was deprecated and they perhaps wanted to move to CSS, but
CSS does support vertical alignments. Does anyone know if they are going
to fix in any future release, and when that release be? Thanks.

For the benefit of the list archives, Hassan also logged this as a support
case.  The response is below:
