Hello, I seriously need some help, I have looked and looked and asked asked and not found anything for or about my problem

I recently bought a Behringer Guitar link, USG 102, uses USB to allow me to plug into various simulated amplifiers, Native Instruments Guitar Combos, within the computer; it's amazing in that it's like just having then for real.
They also included a copy of Audacity with instructions on how to use it, problem is that Audacity does not recognize the Behringer as an option for input or output. I know there has to be a way because they have sold a lot of these and there is nothing on their site about problems like I have, I searched your site, the forums and all I could find and found nothing about the guitar link or my problem,
I am using Windows XP pro with Media Center SP2 on an Acer 3690 Laptop with 1 gig RAM and a 60 gig HD.

Behringer also included a copy of Kristal, and I found a copy of Reaper online. Out of the 3 Reaper was the only one that had no problems in recognizing the Behringer for input or output setting, but that program is like WAY over my head and  way beyond what I need.
I really want to use the Audacity, I got version 1.2.6 and even tried the 1.3 beta but neither one will work, recognize my Behringer Guitar link as an option. All that shows for options is either Windows sound mapping or Realtek HD

So I am hoping that someone at your end knows how to fix this little problem of mine.
I am not well versed in technical terms or anything like that so could you please give me a very easy to understand answer on how to if you have one.
I thank you for your time and consideration,

Jon

Please note the device is UCG 102:

If the USB codec is not recognised in Audacity's "Recording Device" list in the
Audio I/O tab of Preferences, you cannot record from it. Possibly the computer
is not recognising the device. Close Audacity, remove the Link from the USB
port and plug it back in. Make sure you plug it back into a spare USB port, not
a USB hub. Wait a couple of minutes then completely shut down the computer
and restart. When the computer has finished rebooting, open Audacity and see
if the USB codec is now in the "Recording Device" list. If the Link is still not
recognised, try using another USB cable, as sometimes a faulty cable can cause
this problem. If problems persist, request support from Behringer:
http://behringer-en.custhelp.com

Do note if you are on Windows that Audacity won't recognise the ASIO
drivers that you can optionally install from the included drivers CD. Audacity
cannot function as an ASIO host due to licensing issues, so you cannot use
the Link's ASIO drivers with Audacity.  If you open one of the Combos in
the NI Guitar Combos software, then go File > Audio + Midi Settings >
Soundcard tab, try selecting something other than "ASIO" in the "Interface"
dropdown. That may enable Audacity to see the Behringer device in the
Audio I/O tab of its Preferences.

Please let us know if these suggestions solved the problem.
