Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas as to how to tell the difference between a dream with symbolism, a dream that expresses what you've been feeling lately, and a dream telling about the future, or whatever.

Now, I realize not everyone believes that dreams are important.  I believe that at least some of them are.
I believe that dreams normally contain symbolism to help us figure things out: whether this symbolism is from the subconscious mind or another source, well, I'd rather not talk about that here right now - but the ideas themselves.  Some dreams, I've come to find, seem to just be expressions of fears, desires, and such, rather than things with profound meaning . . . What are your thoughts?  So far, the only ways I've had to tell the difference is by the context, the focus, the way I felt, and such - but, those aren't necessarily very easy things to analyze, for certain.

I believe that there are several types of dreams. There are the ones that are just dreams with no particular meaning, they are a product of your subconsciousness - desires, needs, fear of something, and so on. Then there are the dreams that actually mean something - dreams that foretell what's in the future or what's already happened without you knowing it. And, lastly, there are dreams that seem like an attempt for someone to contact you while you are in a sleeping state.

I think that if you are a regular person it is hard to tell which dreams are just dreams and which are more than that... I have asked myself these questions many times, especially if the dream is one of those where you feel that something is actually happening to you. I usually decide like you, judging by how much sense the dream made to me and how strong the impression it left was. Unfortunately, there is no other way to tell.
