How to handle content modification event

Hello!

I have created content type, using Archetypes (i generated it with ArchGenXML and then made some modifications manually). What I want now, is to call my method after this event.  

Could You point to documentation, examples or something other, that could help?
Sorry, if i'm not the first, who asks this question, but i did not found exact answers in the documentation and in the forums.
