How to get an LLV

People at Rural net.  If you need to move this topic please do so

Saturday morning at 1 am I completed my sale of my RHD Jeep.  However it also caused me to over sleep  so when I called in Saturday morning explaining why I over slept.  This lead to acknowledgement I had suspected.

I had contacted my US Senator Barbara Mikulski, in which I explained that National Rural Letter Carrier Association (our union) is working with the United States Postal Service to cause us emotional and finically harm on rural letter carriers.  I was told I had to write it out my complaint in letter form.  In which I did.  From Senator Barbara Mikulski I wanted the NRLCA shut down.  She and her staff were 100% aware of the perverted nature of the NRLCA.  But short answer it was political suicide for a democrat to go after a union.

However in our conversation with her staff the USPS said that ALL Rural Letters who wanted a LLV had one.  Which I explained was not true on any level?  Senator Barbara Mikulski staff said that an arbitrator had issued a bidding order that LLVs be issued by 2008.  She said it would be insane for NRLCA NOT as union not to press that point.  It was so insane she could not believe it and doubted my honest.

I learn later that Senator Barbara Mikulski did actually send a staff member go to the Westminster Post Office to verify that their rural letter carriers using their own vehicles to deliver mail.  I later learnt because of my letter my postmaster was called and issued an order to supply all routes with LLVs.  You can imagine how that conversation went.  With a result of my Postmaster saying he had no effect it would up to his boss and so on up the food chain.

The USPS along with the NRLCA is lying directly to Senate, the Congress and the President.

So I strongly suggest that EVERY RURAL ROUTE that wants a LLV write to their US Senators and Congressman.  LLV are not be issued by mileage, pink ribbon or so other weird concepts that make no sense whatsoever.  Please make clear that even though the NRLCA has a direct order an arbitrator had issued a binding order.  The NRLCA is still opposed having Rural Letter Carrier had a government supplied vehicle to deliver mail.

Since most of you are union members.  You know that NRLCA ignores it members wishes and hides behind those binding resolutions.  The NRLCA is 100% aware that because it has that direct order an arbitrator had issued a binding order to supply LLVs to all routes by 2008.  It should have the USPS over a barrel.  Yet it is not pushing this issue, speak volumes.

You can ask the NRLCA to do something.  I have and the comments received suggest they are getting a thrill out causing emotional and finical harm.

Or you can write to your US Senators and Congressman.  If you do write.  You must also write a separate short letter granting your US Senators and Congressman to look into this manner on your behalf.  Most US Senators and Congressman have forms on their web site

In addition I was told not worry about whether the USPS had enough LLVs to supply all remaining rural routes.  If they only had enough for 90%, then the USPS would have to go to congress and the senate adn asked for funds to supply the remaining routes.  That since they given a direct order of an arbitrator issuing  a binding order to supply LLVs or all routes by 2008.

Secondary, once started you would get a notices saying your route will be supplied an LLV.

Please write and start the process.  The NRLCA is not going to do anything.
