Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)
Dear list,
I'm new to geotools,
and I need to develop simple(?) offline application, which must work(load, show, zoom, pan etc) with maps in different formats (at this moment only .shp and geotiff). I have found few examples in Tutorials and Manuals - at first look its work fine for me.

But I cannot find examples to display different unscalable icons(signs, marks) over the map (icons in gif, png, bmp or jpeg formats).

In addition - some of this icons must be blinking...

Please, show me the best way to do this...

PS: I'm using geotools 2.5.5

Thanks,
Robert

You need to look in to the SLD examples, particularly the external
graphic section.

That probably isn't possible and is also not really  a good idea -
could you draw a larger or more colourful border to  your points.

But blinking - it's more user friendly solution (in my case)...

Maybe best way - draw icons on the JPanel, placed over JMapPane?

Thanks,

Robert
