How long have you been an RCA?

5 years.  I'm 4th in line.  Just got word that another office will be moving in.  This means that they MERGE the seniority.  So, according to start dates, I will now be 8th.  Life is SO wonderful!

Started as TCR in January. Was hired as RCA in June in a 5 route office and am senior RCA in fact I am the only RCA. Go Figure. I stumbled into it.

I have worked for th PO for 28 years. That's good,but wait there is more--11 years RCA time will not count trowards retirement.
How do we get this time changed towards our retirement?? I was told Congress-NRLCA-Which ever it is, we need to get to working for some credit for our time before we went reg. for RCAs and regulars.

How about if you get to reg carrier, your RCA time will add to your time for retiremnet purposes.??

10 years and knowing my rca time wont count if i ever get full time is a bummer. However i just got rated 70 percent by the va so my pension mmakes it alot easier to stomahce the wait

You just hang in there. I  was 19 years as an RCA before I finally made regular. Had to change districts to do it but oh so worth it!!! I love being a regular. I treat my sub nice cuz I was not always treated very nice. I am in a one route office. I have to work until I am 67 to be able to have 15 years in cuz none of the RCA time goes towards retirement, your regular may have a similar reason.

I've been a sub about 9 years "will be 10 in February". The regular I sub for is 68 years old and no plans of retiring. I get all those great days after a holiday, the week before Christmas and the day after. I seen some post on here about sub leaving the mail from one day to another. I ALWAYS get those big bass pro shop books and the little harriat carter " spelling " books left for me. My wife graduated from nurseing school he wouldnt work for me so the master got a carrier from another office to cover for me that had ran the route before so I could go. I'll get off my soap box now, since this was just for how long you've been RCA!

I worked as a pmr for 2 years, a trc for 2 years and as of last june have been an rca for 6 years.

12 1/2 years for me, still 2nd in line in a 3-route office.  The third carrier in our office was an RCA for over 21 years before getting a route.  I'm about to bid on a J-route about 500 miles away on the other side of my state, but I doubt there's any realistic chance of getting it.  It's in a tiny one-route office in a town of 550 people, so I'm just hoping that not too many people noticed the posting and/or want to relocate there!

Trc for a year then rca for four years in on office....quit went to college for three years....saw an ad in paper hired on at another office as trc for two years or three idk just made a year rca in sept.
