How is EMA calculated?

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me how EMA is calculated?  There is a rural route available in my area of 108 miles and 474 boxes and I would like to get a sense of how much the EMA would be.

For a route that long, it is simply the current mileage rate of 54 cents per mile times the 108 miles.  That works out to $58.32 per day.  There will be an increase to the base EMA of 2.5 cents in early October, so its looking like probably at least a 3 cent increase at that time, meaning the 108 mile route would be at least $61.56.
