Hi,
With Mapserver it is possible to set layers to "default" state, when they will be drawn always even if user does not request them in WMS calls. Perhaps something similar could be doable with deegree as well? Create for example a big polygon with some messy fill and a hole where user is allowed to see sharp image, then draw this polygon layer on top of other layers. Maybe polygons could even be connected to user accounts for making them individual.

Hi,
sorry for delay. No at the moment there exists no possibility in deegree
to filter maps like you described. We did something like this some times
ago as a special implementation for a customer of us but we didn't found
the time to integrate the code in a more general form into deegree. If
you are interested I will ask the project manager if it is possible to
give the code to you.
