National Rural Letter Carriers' Association: "The House of Representatives has announced a vote on H.R. 22 to take place on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's office released their weekly schedule, and H.R. 22 is listed as #16 of #16 on the suspension calendar.
The amended version will be a 1-year quick fix to get the USPS past the September 30th end of fiscal year payment due date. We will be continuting to work with Congress to create a more long-term solution for the future.
We urge all NRLCA members to call their Congressmen,
if they are co-sponsors on H.R. 22, and tell them to vote 'YES' on H.R. 22.
