Hi,

Now your'e working on the home page I would raise two questions.

1)

The home page is improving, no doubt, but I miss a little bit more of
"color" on it. I mean, I can only see two clear images, the logo and
the "gimme money" ones.

Why not put some background image or fill the top-big-white place with
a nice image.

I'm not a designer but that's my impression.

2)

Please put incubation projects a CSS class and add simple image with
an info mark or something (i.e. [1] from famfamfam icons), those
asterisk are really ugly and break the line height. Remember incubated
projects, please :)

Cheers

Maybe we should switch it so all the others show a check mark beside
them instead.

Gah.

Let's just remove all of the incubating projects until they graduate;
it'll make for a cleaner interface :)

I agree that the dark green is a bit invasive, but I'd hate to see icons
all over the place.  A nice light mark next to the incubating projects
would be better.

What about simply add a class for the <li> and put them in italics or
maybe a slightly different color

Yes, I like that.

The problem with a non-asterisk type of indication is that people
wouldn't have a metaphor to figure out what the mark means.

How about another box with projects in incubation and list them like the
projects.

Wolf,

I would not really be in favor of that.  It would presumably break up the
current functional grouping of projects to emphasize something that isn't
all that important to those looking for a project, in my estimation.

Best regards,

I agree - please don't break the nice box into pieces.
Initially I added the asterix implementing Tyler's (?) suggestion
because it looks like a footnote (well known and easily recognized).
Too much graphical fanciness will just confuse.

The new dark blue [b]s look for example negatively exotic as they
draw away attention for nothing. Please select at least a light blue...

My few cents only
Markus (hides again)

Are you referring to the b symbols beside the blog postings?  It's
only shown to logged in osgeo.org users and is a default for the rss
aggregation module.  I can look at changing that, but I suspect very
few people end up seeing it anyway.

+1
(I still prefer asterisk)
