Just wondering if anyone has received any information at all?  I signed up for the rural carrier benefit plan and I have not received anything from them.  My husband had to go to the doc yesterday and they called the insurance company but could not get any information from them??   I need to refill my husbands prescriptions through the mail order program but have not received any info..

I hate to have to pay for it all out of pocket first and then file later..  That would be a pain.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had received any info...

We received ours from the APWU.  A coworker had to call the health plan to get their number so they could get medical services.

I do believe that Coventry has a website, I would say check there. If no info is there, call the national office and ask for Larry Wagiloria (sp?) he is our insurace specialist (for lack of a better description)

Well, I emailed them last night since they were closed...  They returned my email and told me that I am not in their system at all and that I should contact the NRLCA for eligibility issues??  Geez, I guess I should have just stayed with BCBS and just took the hit on the extra bucks...  Try to save a buck and look what happens..  I will be calling the National office tomorrow since it is too late today...  What a headache..

Call and see if you are still in the BCBS database.  Maybe they did not receive your change.

This might be part of the problem.

Employees are able to use PostalEASE on the web to make employee self-service FEHB elections through 1/13/09 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time (CT). After that time, and until 1/31/09 at 5:00 p.m. CT, employees must complete a PostalEASE FEHB Worksheet including the block at the bottom with Name, Employee ID, Signature and Date. Mail the Worksheet to: HR Shared Service Center, PO Box 970400, Greensboro NC 27497-0400, or FAX the completed Worksheet to the HRSSC at 1-651-994-3543. FEHB Worksheets for this belated enrollment period postmarked after Jan. 31, 2009, or faxed on that date after 5:00 PM Central Time are past the deadline and will be returned unprocessed.

Just as an FYI...  I spoke with the insurance company and USPS Shared Services..   USPS shows me as being covered under the new Rural carrier plan...  The insurance company still has NO record of me singing up with them.  BCBS has removed me from their system.

The  insurance company says the hold up is the NRLCA.  They say I have to call the NRLCA and get a confirmation number from them before the insurance company can issue me ID cards or information.   I cannot call them until Tuesday since they will be closed for the holiday tomorrow...

No one will confirm coverage without the confirmation from the NRCLA...  I find myself wishing I had just stayed with BCBS and payed the extra money.

Even after I get the confirmation number from the NRLCA, I will then have to call the RCBP and give them Confirmation number and wait for ID cards to arrive in the mail.  It should not be this hard to get the insurance coverage I signed up for...  What a PITA....

so sorry that you are having this trouble..this is inexcuseable.. what a mess the open season has been this year mostly because Blue Cross upted their charges and services.  I received my new cards and info from NALC before the end of the year... funny thing, I had changed to Rural Letter Carriers, then changed to NALC - got cards and info from Rural insurance on Saturday.  Confirmed that I do have NALC though... threw away the other stuff.

Just another update on all of this..  I finally get in touch with the NRLCA and they do not have any information that I signed up with the RCBP.  They want HR Shared Services to fax them something, HR Shared Services says they cannot do that because they can only access information....

HR Shared services tells me that they have the transcript of my earlier call and their answer is the same as it was Friday.  Use my SF 2809 to get health care service.. And if that doesnt work pay for it out of my pocket until I get my health information.    Oh and by the way, even though I cant access my health benefits, my coverage did start Jan. 3rd.

Oh and the hold up is because of the extended Open Season.  I changed my insurance on Dec. 7th, HR Shared Services shows it was confirmed on Jan. 6th..  So my information sat there for a whole month before anyone did anything with it..

I did fax my SF 2809 to the NRLCA...  I dont know if that will work or not..  They wanted it from the USPS.. not me..  Basically, I have to just wait..  And if I need anything pay for it out of my pocked until I get my health insurance information.  What a big pain in the butt!!

wow PT - what trouble you have had... I would gladly have given you my EXTRA Rural carrier ins. cards that I received!  I hate incompentance... hope it goes smoother and no more troubles with the insurance change for you.   Got my first prescription (not mail order) with NALC insurance and it was the same price I paid with BC/BS at CVS... that was a good sign for me.
