I've always said thatI would take it when te time arrives. My friend has had everything removed and she's going throuh the change taking herbal suppliments.
I suppose what I would do is write a list of things that the HRT will protect you from and see if there is anything else you can do or take that can help as much as the HRT. If it doesn't have side effects then it's an alternative that has to be better.
I worked with a woman who had been on it for 15 years and she looked great.
Has anyone had experience , good or bad?

Wendy its up to you which you want to try herb or hrt  but dont go into it lightly weigh the pros and cons of both first HRT protects the bones but has other affects

I've been on the HRTpatches for 10 years and I've had no problems. My GP has just dropped me down from 50mg to 25mg. I started them after my hysterectomy - and started living again - no PMT for two out of four weeks - wonderful. Patches are so easy - just change them twice a week...

Hi there Wendy, I have no experience of HRT but I was wondering about starting up a thread about the menopause - what do you think?

I have loads of questions to ask but I don't fancy taking HRT but have only mild tropical moments but I assume they'll get worse? I did read somewhere that vegetarians can get less symptoms due to the diet?

Whats your thoughts girls? Sorry Graham but you could give the other side of the issue - whats it like to live with a menopausal woman!!!

Perhaps Graham has 'handy hints' for some of the 'other halves'

A lot of us on here are 'of a certain age' so it could be useful. And if the youngsters want sympathy/advice about their PMT ...

My better half was offered HRT but refused because of all the scare stories, thankfully she doesn't seem to be having a lot of symptoms as yet apart from irregular and sometimes very heavy periods.

Now the Male Menopause.....that's a different matter.

My ex husband went through a midlife crisis ran off with a younger woman, hey didn't he do me the biggest favour ever. I think a new thread would be good.
I have taken the HRT now for two weeks after long deliberation and talking to a very special lady (thanks Buff) I haven't seen any difference but given time.
