The summer may be drawing to a close, but we here at GK are gearing up for the start of a new school year! Check out our blog to read what we have been doing over the past three months!

• In “The Power of Ideas,” Rafi examines the necessity of listening to the “pie in the sky” ideas, as some of those very ideas have led to some great OLP projects.
• Krista assesses her first experience producing a simulcast into Second Life in “My First Jaunt into Wearing a Producer's Hat.”
• In “Becoming More Human through Robots: Youth programs and robotics,” Rik discusses how GK might use the lessons from robotics to engage our youth in our programs.
• Rik debates about the merits of virtual worlds for youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds in his post, “Do virtual worlds support or hold back marginalized youth?.”
• In “My one take away,” Tabitha discusses the merit of active listening, especially when working youth who are trying to find their voice.
• Barry gives five different examples of things he has learned from participating lately in so many different types of conferences, events and presentations in his post, “Reflections and Tips from Public Speaking Engagements.”
• In“Appreciating my role as a "Connector"," Rik reflects on his career as a connector of different kinds of organizations and people.
