Geotools review - first comments

Hi guys,
Jody noted collective disappointment regarding my delayed review of
geotools, so I'll get onto it straight away.
Below is my first pass of the documentation, then I will continue again
after work today (in ~ 12 hours) and assuming all key issues have been
addressed, I'll get back to the graduation committee tonight (in ~ 14
hours).

I'll sit of IRC today, in #geotools if you want to ping me. (Will be at
work in ~ 3 hours).

Here are comments from my first pass of the Geotools review. Basically
it looks really good and I'm only picking up small things.

1. There should be a jump point for potential users of Geotools to
assess the status of the Graduation. I assume the following page is
that  jump point?
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GeoTools_Project_Status

Suggestions:
========
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GeoTools_Project_Status#Code_Copyright_Review
Under: Have issues raised in the provenance review been adequately addressed
Please link to a JIRA issue. (so future reviewers can verify status)

--

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/GeoTools+Provenance+Review#GeoToolsProvenanceReview-MultiLicensecode
"The User Guide *will* credit each license".
Create/reference the issue that tracks the above will be done.

http://svn.geotools.org/trunk/modules/library/data/src/site/apt/review.apt
What does "Package origins unknown" mean?

--
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GeoTools_Provenance_Review
I think it would be very useful (but not essential) to have the module
status set set next to each module listed on this page. This will give a
reviewer the ability to quickly summarise that status of all packages
and home in on any packages that need attention.
It is possible you already have this information elsewhere and I've
missed it.

Hi Cameron; I will also try and respond to any issues you raise.

I will update that page.

We are split between two wiki pages on this: here is the GeoTools one
which includes a list of related Jiras
- http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/GeoTools+Provenance+Review

We have set up a "license" category in Jira;

All the best

I have added a few more links and tried to update the answer on this page.

We have a miss communication here; acuster and martin are working hard
to update that link (ie
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GeoTools_Project_Status#Code_Copyright_Review).

And I am working hard to update his link:

We don't need both; so I would like see this sorted? So far the
Confluence one has the live issues list which is nice.
