Juliet,
I'm just about to speak to a group of geoscience librarians about ways they might be able to focus their effort on geoinformatics activities, the US Geoscience Information Network (usgin.org<
http://usgin.org>) among them. In this talk, I'll be mentioning GeoNetwork specifically. So while I'm not reporting any ongoing research in this area, I'm A) giving you a vote of encouragement, and B) kindly asking you to keep us all abreast of any progress you make in this area. I'll be watching closely (and if I do my job a decent group of geolibrarians will be as well).

Dear all
I am working on a research that aspires to enhance spatial web search with semantic web technology and metadata visualisation. I want to implement Ontologies in GeoNetwork and would be interested to know if there is anyone working on the same idea. The idea is to use more information (concepts) in the search other than the traditional keyword based search.
Regards
Juliet
