Hi All,

I am planning to build and sell a proprietary commercial application using the GeoServer WMS and WFS services.
Do my code need to be GPL ?

I also plan to distribute GeoServer with my application setup. Will I need to GPL my code ?

The short answer is http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/License (and you
should probably ask the GeoServer crew not the GeoTools crew.

Wrong list my friend.

In general yes. However if you are interacting with it as a web
component you may be okay. You can also review a change proposal where
we are considering make the dispatch system lgpl while leaving the
core wms wfs wca implementarions as gpl.

Finally you may talk to the open planning project about terms for a
different license.
