Hi,
I am a new grass user and just wondering has anyone managed to get GRASS 6.4RC 3-2 running on a XP 64 bit machine.
I tried to install it and I got python.exe error (unable to find libexpat.dll).
When I clicked O.K I got error in command (execution g.proj.exe -p) and then GRASS crashes.
Thanks,
Ibrahim

Please check if libexpat was installed (I assume that you use the
osgeo4w installer).

Yes, I am using osgeo4w installer.
You are right libexpat is not installed as well as many others.
When I went to the Advanced option and selected grass I realized after the installation only  3 libraries have been installed in C:\OSGeo4W\lib which are (gdal, iconv, and proj-i).
I tried to install grass in another computer and it works fine and then by comparing the libraries I realized I am missing a lot.
What do you think the cause and how to overcome that?
I tried to copy the whole lib folder libraries but still the software is not booting up!!!!!
Appreciate your help!

I have had the same problem on two XP 64 machines, one automatically
selected all the dependencies, the other did not. One is now up and
running with no problems, the other still won't work. I have tried to
erase the whole file tree and start again but it still doesn't work
(perhaps some hidden registry entries are responsible?).

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I would like to know if this
problem gets resolved.

.. it needs to be posted to the OSGeo4W team... (their trac if
not already reported).

I posted it to the osgeo4w trac a while ago, no news on a resolution yet.
