GPX support?

I am investigating GPX support in geotools and not sure what the
current status is.

Google points me to 'org.geotools.data.gpx '
http://javadoc.geotools.fr/2.6/org/geotools/data/gpx/GpxDataStore.html

But I don't see any such package/file in:
http://svn.osgeo.org/geotools/tags/2.6.0/

There is:
http://svn.osgeo.org/geotools/tags/2.6.0/modules/unsupported/gpx2/
But that does not build (off the shelf)

2.5.8 has:
http://svn.osgeo.org/geotools/tags/2.5.8/modules/unsupported/gpx/
http://svn.osgeo.org/geotools/tags/2.5.8/modules/unsupported/xml-gpx/

What/where should I be looking?  Has org.geotools.data.gpx been
removed?  If so, why?

Hi Ryan,

The GPX module hasn't been removed but it hasn't been finished either.

You're probably best to contact the module developer directly because
I don't think he watches this list all the time.  The email is

Yes, there are working (maven) of the GPX parser. I use it for junit tests
to get some geodata but I cannot say anything about its general stability.
