What client library are you using ?
If you're using the one provided by cometd.org, then:
Hitting ESC in FF 3.5.x result in the current outstanding connect
being aborted, but with a reconnect just after.
Hitting ESC in Chromium, does not do anything (so the connect is not
aborted).
Hitting ESC in IE8, does not do anything (so the connect is not aborted).

Thanks, JF. I had cross-posted to get more inputs :) I got the basic flow working with cometd-atmosphere combo. Will be playing around with more examples later today.
