I'm running Audacity 1.3.9 on OpenSuSE 11.0, i586 pc.

I'm trying to get the Ion TTUSB usb turntable to be recognized as a data
source in Audacity.
The turntable does not show up in any recognizable form in the
Edit/Preferences/Devices or in the pulldown next to the microphone on
the main Audacity window. There is no USB Audio CODEC, as mentioned
under the "Set up Audacity to record from the turntable.

I've looked at the Audacity wiki at
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=USB_turntables

What do I have to do to get the Ion turntable to be recognized as a
valid device?

Thanks,
Steve

If it doesn't show up as a device in Audacity then ALSA probably
hasn't found it.  Try popping open a terminal, run the following
commands, and post the results:

arecord -l

lsmod | grep snd

(sorry to send you into terminal land if that's not where you like to
be, but I don't know much about SuSE and don't know of any other
reliable way to get this info)
