Subject: BALLE Conference Coming to Denver
| |
| |
Save the Date! Denver, CO May 21-23, 2009 | The 7th annual BALLE conference is coming to the Mountain West over Memorial Day weekend 2009!
From May 21-23, hundreds of leaders in the local green economy will gather to chart out the next phase in the expansion and success of sustainable economies.
Our 2008 conference in Boston drew more than 500 visionaries, entrepreneurs, business owners, economic development professionals, local government officials, and community leaders from all across the US and Canada for three days of inspiration and education-for-action to build the new economy.
BALLE has been leading the way for years toward a new, fair, green economy based on local small business ownership. Now more than ever, the need is clear, and so is the way ahead.
We've seen how networks of locally owned businesses are moving mountains all across the continent. BALLE networks are proving that the next economy is here and that local businesses are best suited to lead the way.
Together BALLE networks and their member businesses are:
- providing meaningful jobs and strengthening local businesses
- caring for their natural environment
- expanding local food systems
- demanding local, renewable energy
- shortening supply chains to combat global warming
- proving the business case for sustainable practices
- and much more...
| Mickki Langston, executive director of Denver's Mile High Business Alliance welcomes the opportunity to engage the BALLE community:
"The Mile High Business Alliance is so thrilled to host the 2009 BALLE conference, and to help expand the principles and practices of a local living economy to more communities. We are excited to showcase the innovation and community spirit of businesses throughout Colorado, and to learn from business owners in other communities, as well.
