For what it's worth, I'd love to see this feature get resurrected in
the next bug fix release of Plone 2.1.2 (which the timing of has
recently been discussed here on the list) as it's just so common for
sites to have a primary navigation at the top with a local (i.e.
section level) navigation in the portlet.

I'd be happy to help test or whatever is need as the date gets closer
for that release.

Also, we've used the following to patch our installation if that's of
