I love your site. Probably the most useful I've found. You guys have all this "free" information on this site, but why do I have to fill in my name, address, phone, and email to get some of it? I know your featured listings, MLS search, schools, weather, and this message board are open, but why the other stuff? Thanks for your help.

Andy,
Thank you for your kind comments. Your question is a good one that I've been asked before. The answer is fairly simple. Most of the information is copyrighted, so we don't just publish it for all to see, and use freely (Including other agents). You don't really have to fill in ALL of the questions. As long as you leave a name, and valid email address you can access it. Email must be valid, so we have a place to send it. If you don't put in a valid email you would never receive the information because we wouldn't know where to send it. You will
NEVER get spam, or junkmail from us, and we don't share your information with
ANYONE. We will also
NEVER ask for any confidential info from you such as your social security number (Even if you hire me as your agent). That info is none of our business. It is only for you, and your lender.
The exceptions to this are if you want to find out "
What your house is worth", or "
What the home down the street sold for". Then we need your address, or else we can't really tell you what it's worth since we don't know where it is. A phone number is also handy in those cases, so we can ask specific questions about your home.
The other exception is the
V.I.P. Buyer page. We need that filled in as thoroughly as possible so that we know just what it is that you are looking for, and of course we need to know where to send it(email). Plus, if you fill it out thoroughly you will be in the
monthly drawing for the $50 gift certificate.
I hope this helps answers your question. Don't hesitate to call if there is anything I can help you with.
