Field editable only in the creation process

Hi!
I have an archetype that creates a filesystem folder structure
With the events, I can't control the old name of the field and I can't
modify the folder's name

Or can I?

If not, I think the better solution will be to make that this field is
only writable in the creation process not in the edition

Can I do that?

What do you think?

From your post it is not clear

1) what are you referring with  "old name of field"

2) why would you like to modify folder's name

If this is an issue please try to report the question with necessary details filled in.
