I've been testing one the improved canvas follow playback. Nicely done, but perhaps open for some further improvements. This screencast shows two issues: 1. if a system is partly showed, the playback does not reveal the whole system
2. when revealing the next system, it is a placed a little to high and capping the some stems of the highest notes.

Other than that, great improvement! Thx Seth.

A proposal for how it could work: Try to keep the highest and lowest object in the system in view. Werner, are these bounds kept track of during the layout phase?

Also, there is another problem: The right side of the canvas sometimes goes into the next page. It should only ever show one page at a time. The same applies to the bottom of the canvas: it should never show the blank space beyond the current page. But these are easily fixed.

Does this sound good?

Btw, The thanks really goes to Werner who implemented the function in the first place. I merely enabled it and fixed a line of code that wasn't updated for DPI changes.

Hi,
I rewrote most of the follow playback code in r1149. It should handle
systems better. It also aligns to the page edge if it were to run off.

Works like a charm Seth (testing with r1165 on win vista).
Thx!
