Dear Colleagues
Please note that
the registration for the 2009 BIMF closes on Friday, 22 May 2009.
Registration for the 'Specify' workshop is now closed.
I have attached the draft programme for the BIMF and the workshops. The final
programme will be distributed on 29 May 2009.
BIMF and workshops
8 June
2009: Specify workshop
(registration closed)
GIS editing workshop
9 & 10 June 2009: Main forum & Interactive session
11 & 12 June 2009: SABIF/GBIF Data standards workshop.
Registration
Register for the Forum at www.infoforum.org.za .
The Forum will be held at the South African National Biodiversity
Institute, Kirstenbosch, Cape Town.
Accommodation booking and payment
The BIMF team will make every effort to
facilitate the reservation of accommodation close to the venue, please contact [hidden email] to request assistance. The person requesting the booking
will be responsible for all costs associated with the booking and travel
arrangements made.
Call for presentations
As well as the formal sessions, there
will be open sessions for participants to make short presentations (12 minutes)
on Biodiversity Information Management, Biodiversity Information or other
related topics. When registering for the forum please supply the topic of
your presentation.
Interactive presentations
There will be an interactive session
showcasing Biodiversity Information Management Systems and related projects on
the afternoon of 9 June 2009 at 17:00. When registering please indicate
if you would be interested in demonstrating a system or displaying a
poster. These sessions are a valuable networking opportunity and I would
encourage you to present your work.
Programme
The final BIMF programme will be disseminated on 29 May 2009 via e-mail
and placed on the InfoForum website ( www.infoforum.org.za ).
