Thought some of you might find this interesting, particulary for the
emphasis on the combination of CMS, CRM, email and ecommerce.

best,
jon

Subject: [501 TechClub Seattle] Request for Proposals: Kabissa Online
Community/CRM Project

Hey folks,

As some of you may know, Kabissa has embarked on some new web site
projects with funding from the OSI Information Program and the Ford
Foundation. Below is an RFP - click the link to download the full PDF
document. Please feel free to forward this on to relevant lists and your
friends - and drop me an email (no calls please) if you have any
questions.

Have a good weekend!

Cheers,

Tobias

Request for Proposals: Kabissa Online Community/CRM Project

Kabissa is seeking experienced partners to assist in a new project to
implement an Online Community/Constituent Relationship Management
(CRM) system for its 900+ members in Africa.  Based on Kabissa's
specifications, completed in October 2006, we have determined three
major pieces of functionality we will require in a CRM system - member
management, e-mailing, and e-commerce. These pieces may be provided by
one tool or multiple tools, but all must work well with each other.
All tools must be extremely user friendly, especially from the front end
perspective, and incorporate common web 2.0 features. They will be often
accessed in low bandwidth environments on very old computers so
usability and efficiency are essential.

We had originally selected the open source system CiviCRM
(www.civicrm.org) and Joomla (www.joomla.org) and mapped out our
detailed specifications for these tools. While we are now open to other
solutions or other combinations of solutions, we still give preference
to proposals that are based around CiviCRM and Joomla.

This project will begin immediately and we are looking to work with the
selected vendor to develop a very quick implementation plan.
Interested? Proposals are due on March 2! For more details, download the
PDF document at http://www.kabissa.org/news/rfp-for-crm-project.html

example plone 2.5 calendar?

Hello,
I've looked at about 30 websites listed on the plone.org website to see a working example of the default plone 2.5 calendar but it seems that not many people are using it. Could someone point me to a website where it is being used? We currently are using a shared calendar service targetted to a small group of like-minded organisations and are considering moving to the default plone calendar.
Thank you!
Nynke

Have you looked into using CalendarX or the plone4artists calendar? I
think they are more feature rich than the default plone calendar.

We're using CalendarX for our extranet, though I plan on test driving
the plone4artists calendar in the next couple of weeks

What do you want to use the calendar for? Your public site or something
intra/extranet like?

grts,
sisi

Hi Nynke,

Plone4ArtistsCalendar is a very lightweight calendaring tool for Plone which provides you with 3 different views of events in a folder or Smart Folder : month view, event list, event archive.

It also supports publishing of calendars via iCal to your Plone site, and also subscribing to the calendar via iCal. This is very handy for groups who want to share calendars, and subscribe to an aggregated calendar of events/appointments.

You can download Plone4ArtistsCalendar here:
http://plone4artists.org/products/plone4artistscalendar

And demo it here:
