FELLOW CARRIER DOWNED BY SUICIDE

I HAVE SEEN NOTHING POSTED ABOUT THE CARRIER COMMITING SUICIDE IN N.C. WHEN IT WAS MENTIONED TO OUR POSTMASTER SHE SAID SHE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IT,BUT THIS IS A STRESS FREE JOB ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS COME TO WORK, DO OUR JOBS AND GO HOME AND THAT ANY STRESS, WE BRING ON OUR SELVES.NO SYMPATHY. THEN SHE THREW A PARCEL AND HIT ME WHILE I WAS PULLING DOWN MY MAIL, GREVIANCE WILL BE FILED MONDAY. HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO TAKE THIS TREATMENT AND WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?

Yes I know and read the site. My point is that if that had of been a roll-away/run-away we would have had a weeks worth of safety meetings on the subject. As it is the post office is under investigation for being a toxic work place,and there has been nothing said about it.

worked in this office 32 yrs. and have never seen management like we have here-- they helped pull the trigger

I think this is a bad thing.I wish that he had found another way to deal with these bad managers.I myself have one that I cannot get noone the union or the mid-carolina managers to make back off.It is horrible that we have to deal with these kind of people.I started to pray everytime I entered the my job that my angels would guide me while i worked.I prayed that god would build a fence around me while I work.I pray daily that he will give my pm whatever they need to make them whole.I wish he could have found another way.

That is just awful!!!  God knows what was going on in that carriers life.  May he rest in peace, and my God Bless his family.

Many years ago, a city carrier in our office killed herself, she did it at home, it truly had nothing to do with work, it was so very sad, the entire Post Office went to her funeral, all the LLV's went to the graveside service.  She was the happiest little thing, the last person you would suspect of such dark thoughts.  We still miss and love you Mary.

if managers could just realize that they can keep the numbers down and treat the craft employees with respect. moral will go up and the office would run alot smoother. happy workers will do a better job.

Let me get this straight.  A PM threw a parcel at you?  Hitting you?  I would that is not only grevable,  but criminal as well.  If it was the other way around you can bet you'd be in front of the inspectors in no time.  I would contact a DA or US attorney.
