It looks like the United States has a 2-Headed Domestic-Terror Monster; People-on-People, and Nature-on-People and Communities!!
That is the way it is, in protecting our Homeland, Homes, Economy, and Citizens; Defending against Terrorists, Felons, Drug-Pushers, Rapists, and other People-on-People Crime; and Defending ourselves and our properties against Tornados, Hurricanes, Floods, Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Wildfires, Explosions, Land and Mud Slides, Frost Heaves, Soft Soils, Extreme Cold and Extreme Heat, and other Nature-on-People and Communities attacks!!
Both occur every year in the U.S; both need counter-actions, both need "Chiefs and Indians" to fight the battles, but only one has the popularity and positive news media coverage; People-on-People terror and crimes.
Even though more U.S. Citizens die each year in (combined) car-crashes, storms, & floods, and lose more money in Natural Disasters, and have to do more work and lose more time after Natural Disasters, more are interested in People-on-People terrors!! We suffer more from faulty building and automobile body-frames than the world loses Citizens to terrorist attacks!! Add in the number of Citizens that die in tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, floods, and earthquakes around the globe, and you might want to switch your priorities on what type of terrorism needs more attention and more solving!! There's a lot of work available in fighting Natural Phenomena like tornados, hurricanes, and earthquakes, yet most of the work is in "researching" the phenomena and the buildings and structures the storms, quakes, floods, & fires destroy!! Here's the secret: The building and structure exterior perimeter frames/bodies are what the natural terrorizing phenomena attack first and last, as that is location of the building/structure that loses the battles with wind, shaking, water, and fire!!
