EiffelStudio on Windows is very similar to its Unix counterpart. Thus to have
EiffelStudio running on this platform, you only need to set the environment
variables ISE_EIFFEL, ISE_PLATFORM and ISE_C_COMPILER. So the .7z package is
basically the same kind of package as the Unix .bz2 packages.
Practically, most of our early adopters use the .7z package, because it is very
fast to install/remove intermediate releases.
MSI is great when you do not know how to install things and this is why the .7z
are not offered as downloads on
http://www.eiffel.com since the later require some
manual settings.
