EiffelBuild stopped working

When I try to launch esbuilder a button appears on the task bar but nothing else happens. There is no window, and right clicking on the button gets no response. I have to quit using the task manager to kill the application.

This is version 6.4 on windows xp.

When I try running from a command window with -verbose option I get the following exception trace:

I've tried repairing from the add program control panel. Nothing changed.

Any ideas?

I certainly cannot reproduce the behavior. Can you describe how you installed
EiffelStudio? I assume that you can launch EiffelStudio without any problem?

I installed by running

Eiffel64_gpl_79451-windows.msi

EiffelStudio still works.

Well, now it is working again.

I think what happened was that some modal message was being displayed offscreen where I couldn't see it. That may be why the task bar menu wouldn't work. I just hit return and the menu came back to life, so I could maximize the window and see things again. Everything works fine now.
