I recently came across a thing called E-Prime.  It's standard English without any form of the verb "to be".  I would very much like to talk to someone who knows something about this.  Who uses it?  When would you use it?  Is it recognized by any sort of language "authority"?  Fascinating...

Are you the same one I've been emailing about language ideas?  If not, then the person I've been emailing seems into it.  Let me know, and I'll contact him and see if he'll talk to you.

Heh, heh.  So you are.

So, is this lack of the verb to be the only difference with normal English?

I was working on a new form of English a while ago (just improving on some grammar issues, adding some words, and such).  Maybe I'll get back on it one of these days.  I never considered the thing with to be, though.  I'm curious now.
