Yeh i'm on Diclofenic. Not really having any side effects now, but at 1st, felt a bit dizzy and spaced out. But like i said, am fine now. Have a bad back, and they sort of help with the pain, don't think they are strong enough, but had stronger painkillers, and they didn't agree with me, so now back on the Diclofenac.  Have to put up with a little pain. Think everyones different, like with most tablets. Some people are ok on them, some people have bad side effects. Hope this helps.

Diclofenac is a member of the Non steroidal anti imflammatories like brufen, so stomach problems are a side effect.  I'm sorry that they didn't agree with you, It does come as a suppository so if it worked but you don't want the tummy problems you can try it that way.

Diclofenac can cause stomache upsets, like any anti inflammatory, such as Ibuprofen. Such as stomache ache, indegestion etc. This is because as someone else said it is wears away on the lining of the stomach and can even cause ulcers which then need other medications to calm them. It also is not recommended with other meds such as meds for Bi Polar Disorder ie Litium. And asthmatics can be irritated by it, making them wheezy or have an attack. But as long as it has supervision, then each person is different.

I've been on diclofenac for about a year now, and still suffering from the pain although it has eased the RA.  I am on so many tablets for the RA and Fybro. I was also given tummy ones to help protect my tummy.

Still no miracle cure though i keep wishing.

There is no miracle cure, sadly and it's unlikely there will ever be one.
Have you ever noticed how the pain gets worse when you are miserable?...I have. I've also noticed that the happier I am the easier it is to deal with.
I've come to the conclusion that meds don't work for the pain..I'm not prepared to stop taking them just yet though.(Acute pain is different...).I'm cutting my regular painkillers slowly. I hope to be only taking them when the pain is particularly unpleasant.
We have to care for ourselves.....we must be kind to ourselves......we should treat ourselves with the respect that we show others. That starts first thing in the morning when you wake up. Even when you are in pain you can appreciate a thing of beauty. Keep something beatiful, that makes you smile,by the bed.
When you wake, instead of focusing on the  damned miserable pain, look at your "thing of beauty" and start the day with a smile. The rest of the day will follow suit. You'll still have pain.....but you'll be better equiped to deal with it.
Just a thought.<Smile>

I do, she's called the wife . I think I'll show her this thread and get some brownie points.

You are so right Buffy, it's all about positive thinking I believe it can do wonders.

Heather is the best example of the power of positive thinking. She could have sat down and cried and we all would have sat down and cried with her. Now, I know tears have been shed but she's thought about her loved ones and put on a smile and put best foot forward. I know Stuart got this weeks Gold Star but Heather should get one soon.
She spurs me on!
My life has been so much better since I started concentrating on the things I'm grateful for....and it's not a great effort to do it. Instead of moaning that I'm tired, I can sit and rest content that I was well enough to get out of bed in the first place. It's not easy to change your perspective...but it is worth it!
