Mail Count Guide
WHEREAS: The existing guidance given to the carrier for accomplishment of a mailcount is in many instances vague and open to interpretation, or lacks specific guidance in some areas
BE IT RESOLVED: That the NRLCA develop a more comprehensive mail count guide, addressing each area of concern during a mailcount to include references to related documents and sources per paragraph item.
Further, that the Union actively solicit it's membership for input to the guide, to include problems requiring inclusion or clarification.
INTENT OR REASON FOR CHANGE The present mail count guidance is a valuable tool, but in many cases when put to the test gainst managements actions, is either lacking, or is supersceded by other documents. A more complete guide that addresses current problems encountered by carriers during this past count would enable better preparation for the next event, and empower the carrier to get a more accurate portrayal of his or her true work requirements.
Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
