Customize map

Hi
I want to analyze my own map. I want to scan my map and import to GRASS, Is this possible? What should i do? Please help me

In a nutshell:

- import the scanned map into a XY location
- create a second location with desired projection
- use the Geocoding tools, see
   http://grass.osgeo.org/screenshots/imagery.php
   http://grass.osgeo.org/wiki/Georeferencing
