As the download pages say "Click the appropriate link below, which takes you
to the SourceForge download page". SourceForge host our downloads.
The pages also say "The SourceForge download should start automatically.
If it does not, click the links in the orange panel marked "direct link" or
"mirror". The download box that pops up automatically, and the "direct
link" or "mirror" links are all free, official versions of Audacity.
Advertisements help SourceForge cover their hosting costs, but you do
not have to click on the advertisements.
If you are using Internet Explorer you may see "Information Bar" instead
of the automatic download box. You can click where it says "Options" in
the Information Bar and then click "Download File..." to start the
SourceForge download.
If this really does not work for you then you can download from this
free mirror site without advertisements:
