Create a area on site

Hi, what the right/better way to create a area where i can put some banners and links that will always appear.

The users will be able to change these links and banners, like a page on the site.

Perhaps you can use a "static text portlet" for this?  If you've tried that, and it's not working for you, you'll probably need to be a bit more specific about what you're trying to do.

Unless you know what you're doing: don't touch the main_template.
Consider using a static portlet as Jon indicated or learn about "viewlets"

Ok, i can write a viewlet and use it. My question is, what the code i need to request a page and print body?

I'm using a theme that i created, so i'm replacing main_template.pt in my theme.

No idea what " to request a page and print body" shall mean.
The are various documentation on plone.org on viewlets. Use the search
functionality of the site!

You can create a portlet that you will assign to the right column, and use this snippet inside the portlet's template:

<div tal:content="python: portal.sidebar.getText()" />

Also, you can look into collective.portlet.tal and skip the "create a portlet" part, but this can be a security issue if your users can edit the portlets.

You need to use <div tal:content="structure  
python:portal.sidebar.getText()" />

The "structure" tells the TAL interpreter not to escape HTML.
