I have been printing and decorating on candles as small gifts for relatives. and made all my Christmas cards too. It's my first attempt at candle decorating and I never even messed one up
I haven't had much energy and have been quite ill for some months now, wish I could have done more but just didn't feel well enough for anything, even getting out of bed is an effort lately.
Anyway,slap myself for moaning
Gonna try and post a couple of pics. xxxx

Wow Rita, those candles are beautiful! How do you get the writing and pics on there then? I feel a craft lesson coming on.................

Poor you Elaine, I hope your Mum and Dad improve soon and I'm sure they won't mind not having the tree dec this year just for once, maybe you could hang a temporary one on the tree as a gesture, a drawing of the one you hoped to make as a kind of i.o.u.? Then at least you'll feel a bit better about it? Take care and don't worry, peeps stress far too much about christmas and us fibromites need stress like a hole in the head!! Chill

Hi Joo,Here's your crafting lesson
You print or stamp on white tissue paper(NOT toilet type!!!)If you are printing, fix the tissue to a sheet of copy paper (shiny side of tissue paper up)each end with some DST,this will help it through the printer.Cut out your design as close to the design as possible, place on a candle, wrap in greaseproof paper, hold paper tightly at the back and heat with a heat gun.You will see your design start to look wet, when it has ,remove the heat, peel the greaseproof paper off and there you have it.Next, polish the candle to bring back the shine with a soft cloth(not too vigorous) then attach ribbon if desired, glitter, gems etc.Place in a cello bag and tie with ribbon and a gift tag.
These can be personalised not just for Christmas, but for Anniversaries, weddings, birthdays,in fact, all special occasions, also they could be great fund raisers for fetes etc.
They are quite easy to do,but don't burn yourself like I did  I heated one too much and the hot candle wax ran down my hand,I didn't want to drop the candle so just held it whilst it burnt me,was just a bit sore,no blisters thankfully.
Well Joo,are you going to have a go at some?

Cor! That sounds really easy!! Apart from the burning fingers  you dafty moo!! Just the sort of trick I'd get up to as well!! I think I'll do that in the new year - I'm doing far too many crafts now, there's no room to move!! I have jewellery all over the end of the settee and a chair and the floor but I shoved this to one side this affo 'cos I painted a little watercolour and then out in the kitchen diner, I have part finished framing plus sewing on the go and i really need to make some kitchen curtains. Then as you go up the stairs I have a lot of moulding leaning up on the bend of the wooden hill, followed by more art materials and some of the kids crafting stuff from the last visit, then round the corner theres mount card and in the back room............well, it's impossible to even get in there at the mo 'cos I have a rail of clothes to sell on ebay and the whole room is packed to the gunnells with ALL sorts of stuff and I haven't even mentioned my garden workshop which is a 12' x 8' shed full of framing stuff!!!! Hee hee!! It's lucky Simon has his own art stuff and space isn't it?!! Or should I say isn't it great to be able to pinch his art stuff when I run out!!

Ho hum, ain't life grand when you're having fun....now where did I put those candles.........
