Calling ogr2ogr within a python plugin

Hi all,

I am wondering if it is possible to call the ogr2ogr tool from a python
plugin. I f so :
* I could use its "export to postgis" functionnality
* I could create a simple python plugin "Convert shapefile to kml"
* etc...
