Hi,

I am trying to set up a series of tutorials, which will hopefully be
more frequent and in depth that the previous round of tutorials at our
school. My idea is as follows. The tutorials will be organized every
week, at a set time and place. The tutorials would build upon each
other, but still be interesting and informative for people who haven't
taken the tutorials in sequence.

I'm imagining starting with about 4 photoshop tutorials, starting with
the basics (tools, interface, menus, etc...) and getting progressively
more advanced, culminating in the creation of a mock website layout.

Then, we would take the photshop projects we had created and following
the next set of four tutorials, would code the layouts into live web-
pages.

Each tutorial would run about 1.5 hours. The students running the
tutorials would be paid, approximately 25 dollars per tutorial, and
would be expected to spend at least an hour outside of the tutorial
preparing a plan, and some materials for students to follow along
with. I am also exploring the idea, which is funding dependent, of
expanding the amount of money paid to the teachers, with the idea that
more out of class work could be done for better prepared tutorials.

I had someone lined up to teach the photoshop portion, but their fall
schedule is too hectic for them to take on the responsibility, so I am
putting out a call, to see if any of you are adept with photoshop and
interested in leading some of these tutorials.

Also, I am interested in any/all suggestions for other tutorials (Max,
Flash, electronics, etc?) that people would want to lead/learn about.
Or any suggestions or comments in general.

-Dan

I can do introductions to Max, but I don't want to have anything to do
with organizing it...

I could do a few Tutorials on MSP and another tutorial on secret yet simple tricks for non real time audio post production and restoration.

Depending on the level of knowledge of the people attending I rather scape the MSP basics and get down to seriously fun stuff.

Cool... can you three guys quickly send me a little profile picture
and a little 3 line blurb about you and what you're going to teach.
Mazi, that's fine, we're going to be running them next semester as
well. I want to send out an email to the general population as soon as
possible to begin to build awareness for the tutorials, so the sooner
you can get me a little profile pic and a blurb the better.

thanks,
-dan

Maybe you can set up a "Tutorials" page on the DATA wiki with our profiles...

I think my last reply got lost.

I do photography and work as the photo coordinator for a small
newspaper so I know a lot about using photoshop for print media and
general photo touch-up. I also know how to use digital cameras well
(both video and still).

I also know a ton about sound production and editing and video
editing, basically all the major programs.

Oh, I totally forgot, I know a ton about sound production as well.

I might be into doing an Ableton Live crash course or something like that...
