Butlins defies the economic gloom by showing off the stylish room designs for its new £20 million hotel and revealing that bookings are up for 2009.
The Ocean Hotel, opening at the Bognor Regis Resort in August, is the crowning achievement of just under £100 million investment across six years in accommodation and facilities.
And the success of the modern Butlins formula has just been confirmed by a survey of 5,000 people who have visited recently - with a resounding 95 per cent saying they want to come back for another break and with over a quarter having already re-booked.
Butlins’ three Resorts will attract 1.5 million customers this year, with guest numbers for the six week summer holiday period up 15 per cent year on year.
Richard Bates, Managing Director of Butlins, says: “The modern-era Butlins is a unique mix of quality accommodation and entertainment that guests love. And 97 per cent say we offer brilliant value for money”.
“With the amount of choice on offer this is going to be the year to be here.”
Stylish rooms with features all the family will look forward to:

The Ocean Hotel’s 200 rooms are Butlins most stylish ever, with colour change lighting, rainfall showers and private balconies overlooking the sea and the South Downs.
Family rooms feature a separate children’s den. Kids’ beds even come with specially designed blue glow lighting – which means Butlins can offer the world’s first ‘no-monsters-under-the-bed guarantee’.
Facilities include all-day check-ins, chic restaurant and bar, unique spa facilities, room service, landscaped gardens, and full access to all the entertainment on Resort.
The price of a Mariner 4 berth room with South Downs views starts from £480 for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 2 to 14 years) sharing for 3 nights on a ‘Summer Schools Out’ break from 21st August 2009.
The Ocean Hotel will be available to book from Monday 2nd February 2009.for more information please visit
