The interpreter gets about as far as

2009-10-27T17:01:25 : DEBUG : Collecting object id: oval:org.mitre.oval:obj:6563

Then crashes on windows XP when using the xp.xml vulnerability definitions. (2dab546fcdd162f26e3ec7bccf3cd45f)

I Notice there is a new filepath attribute for that object.

Thank you for reporting this issue. This issue has been recorded along a with all other known OVAL Interpreter issues on the sourceforge site (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ovaldi/). Here is a link to the feature request for this issue: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2837684&group_id=215469&atid=1033797

We currently expect full support for the file path entity to be included in the next release of the oval interpreter.

Thanks,

Jon

                Hi Brian,

The filepath entity is currently not supported in OVALDI.  However, it will be supported in the next release of OVALDI which should be soon.

                Thanks,

                Danny

My experience is the same. How do we get around this?

PS: This is my first post and I am relatively new to OVAL.

This issue is discussed here:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2837684&group_id=215469&atid=1033797

For the moment, if you build from source we have updated the interpreter so that it will report an error and continue running as usual rather than simply crash. As Danny mentioned we should have a new release out with full support for the filepath entity shortly.
