
Battlesbridge is a village in Essex, England. This cute antique village is nestled on the banks of the River Crouch between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea.
It offers the largest antique centres in Essex which was established in 1967. The Battlesbridge Antiques Centre comprises of five period buildings: Cromwell House, The Bridgebarn, The Haybarn, The Old Granary and Muggeridge Farm, and also houses 80 dealers offering advice, valuations and opinions.

The bridge over the tidal River Crouch was kept in repair from the earliest days by the Bataille family, hence the name of the hamlet. Today it is home to a number of antiques centres. A former mill is numbered is one of them.
Battlesbridge is a conservation area which was jointly designated by Chelmsford Borough Council (north side of the river) and Rochford District Council (south side of the river) in February 1992 and March 1992 respectively.
The Tidal Gates were replaced in 2008.The new gates weighing 19 tonnes, were constructed using pine beams and metal sluices. The basic work was completed by Roy Hart and his son Justin. Woodham Ferrers engineers the Keeble brothers, assisted with some of the more specialised milling. The design and draughtsmanship for the working drawings was entirely the work of Roy.
The village is served by Battlesbridge railway station on the Crouch Valley Line. A direct train line to this village is also run from London Liverpool Street Station
There is a motorbike musuem which makes great ride for bike lovers. This little museum evokes an ambience of motor cycling through the ages with assorted memorabilia scattered between the classic and vintage motorcycles. The Bridgebarn is home to this small 'Penny Arcade' with a roundabout, fortune-teller and 'What the Butler Saw' among others. All the machines are working and use the original Old Pennies. Which are available at the front desk. Telephone 01268 763500 for details
